Hey peeps!

I have a quite serious problem. Some users can kick other users, and the strange part is that the server groups they are in does not have the permission to kick.
I use the latest server version, which is 3.0.13.8.

Here's just a quick look at the log. Notice that it happened again about 24 hours ago...

Code:

The groups that have the "so called" ability to kick is: Guest, 1 day Online, 2 days Online, 5 days Online & 1 week Online.

Here's some screenshots of the kick permissions:

Has anyone else experienced this before?

Best Regards!

If the users can kick, it means they have permission to do so.
Most of the teamspeak owners don't know how to work with the teamspeak permission groups.
What i recommend to my clients is to keep the default groups, and then create empty groups with the necessary permissions. These groups will complement the default group the user already is.
Most of teamspeak owners duplicate the existing groups and do modifications on them (You can do this if you know the permission group perfectly well and you know what you are doing) wich is wrong.

Hi @XRV-Webix,

I understand the permission setup, that's why I included the screenshots , where it clearly says that neither of the groups has permission to kick/ban etc.

So the question is, how do they gain those permissions without having them?

A permission is overriding those or one of the groups allows permission editing.
You don't have many choices.

I will have a deep look into all permissions once again. I did look through them yesterday but I couldn't find anything

make sure to check the channel group perms and the client perms.

The Perms priority goes like that:
1st Check: Client Perms
2nd Check: Channel Group Perms
3rd Ckech: Server Group Perms

I've checked all permissions, there's no kick permission at all. This is really confusing

Meaning that People can kick, means they have indeed the Permissions for that. Check all Permissions, Server Group Permission, Channel Group Permission, Channel Permissions, Client Permissions and Channel Client Permissions.

There is an explanation!
Set the "Needed Kick Power" perms to something - then they won't be able to kick anyone!

Omg, I'm so stupid. I was so angry and confused about this, that I didn't even notice that the "needed" fields were empty...:rolleyes:
